Seeing Chicago weather forecast, maybe 1016.

I should have added a note that 1016 was briefly in Chicago in late August for repairs at the factory, being sent on to Detroit on September 1. The coats in the picture look heavier than what I would have expected to be worn in Chicago in late August. I looked for a web site that would provide daily low temperatures in Chicago in August 1948 but could not such a site. If you can find this info you will know whether there is the possibility of 1016 being your car. While I cannot be certain, my wager continues to be on 1030 since this car was assigned to Engineering for a while after it was built and the coats in the picture look to be heavy winter coats (and a winter scarf). (1030 was not yet built by late August, 1948.)

Thank you, Larry! I agree that is seems like 1030 is most likely the one. My grandmother was known for overcompensating, but heavy coats in August would be overdoing it even for her. Since 1030 is in Los Angeles, I have a new excuse to visit my daughter's godfather!

It's awesome to know when that parade was, too. I never knew the date before. That was only days before my aunt's first birthday.

I really appreciate all of the information!
